Yesterday I was in a college event where various dignitaries were giving keynote speeches to the graduating students. While listening to their inspiring speeches, a thought crossed my mind. Can I write a short speech using the famous slogans and taglines of the brands. The germ of the idea came from a book: Steal Like an Artist, A Notebook for Creative Kleptomaniacs by Austin Kleon.

Isn’t this the happiest place on earth. Look at these happy faces, there are somethings that money can’t buy. This happiness is exactly one such thing. Around two years back when you chose this course and this college you had that moment in the orientation where you knew that ‘you are in good hands’. You knew that this college is an ‘ultimate driving machine’ that will help you ‘move the way you want in the future.
‘Life is short’ whoever said this must have lived very happy life. I often jokingly say this but the matter of fact is life may look short in the hindsight, but it is a long journey. You will be able to conquer this journey only if you have the courage and the values stronger than steel. You will come across various type of people in your life. Some will say to think big; some will say think different. But ill say only one thing just think. Reflect on what you read, what you say, and what you do.
In this odyssey you will have your ups and down. There will be places where you want to be but you won’t be able to reach. Remember you can’t be everywhere you want to be. There will be goals that won’t be able to fulfil. Remember you can’t catch them all. But never backdown from what should be done to achieve your goals. Just go ahead and do it.
Don’t forget your existing friends and don’t forget to make new ones in this quest for success. You can belong anywhere and go further in your adventure if you have friends all along. And who can deny that a beer taste better together.
Always remember to take a break and polish yourself to shine like a diamond. Never be hesitant to spend money to develop your skills and quality because you are worth it. And I don’t have to tell you diamond is forever and quality never goes out of style. You become that name that people can bank on.
Now when you are embarking on this new journey a question will be raised at every crossroads in your life, do you have it in you? The answer should be Yes, I am resilient today for a brighter tomorrow. In this journey if you are ever lost remember this is your college and it has the motto to guide you home. It will always help you reclaim your life.
