I and my friend booked a cab from Thamel to Pavitra Workshop. Indrive showed Rs. 230 and Yango showed Rs. 157.
Obviously, we booked Yango.
With all the negative talk going around around the brand, I was a bit sceptical. But honestly, the ride came on time, no further negotiations, no cancellations, no arguments.
ย It was a good experience.
My friend, who uses these services more often, was quite comfortable. He has never had a bad experience with Yango.
While we were in the cab, I started chatting with the driver. He seemed genuinely happy with Yango. He shared that he can actually earn better even with short rides like ours. He gets paid for driving a Yango-branded taxi, and he also earns incentives based on the number of rides he completes.
On our short ride alone, he said he was going to earn around Rs. 400.
So, it made me wonder: why is there so much fuss about Yangoโs bad service?
I recently saw a video where an Indian influencer claimed that some people had approached him to speak negatively about Zepto.
I am not trying to directly connect the dots here, but after my own experience with Yango, I can see a possibility what if some taxi drivers are being paid to act rude, negotiate fares, or cancel rides after accepting?
After all they say everything is fair in_______
Maybe thereโs more to this story than what we see on the surface.
Just sharing my experience, sometimes it’s good to question what we hear and see.
